New Publication: Sherlock Holmes – Some Unpublished Cases. The contents of the famous tin box, which Doctor Watson elsewhere recorded as having been lodged at Cox’s Bank in the Strand, appear to have surfaced at last. A first selection of the dusty documents has been resurrected in this volume, covering, in the main, a period following the original cases written by the late Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Included is the later decision for Sherlock Holmes to retire and one of the mysteries solved afterwards; these take the reader through the turbulent period of the Great War and on to the Brooklands car racing track at Weybridge in the 1920s. Devotees of the great detective will find some cases have been referred to in Sir Arthur’s earlier work but never published – such was Doctor Watson’s literary cunning.
